poem a day 7

April 9, 2012 § 2 Comments

I straight up riffed on the lines
“Fresh out
of a timely maybe”
from the poem Second Hand Clock written by my friend whose writings can be found, among other places, here: onetimepad
more than a prompt, it was the best kind of nudge,
it got me going.

so many thanks, doug.

it’s those timely maybes

that get me

a minute too soon

or after
the fact

was it something I missed

you didn’t say

just then

we argued anyway
