poem 12

not so stuck in my craw:

that girl with the pink t-shirt that says
p r i n c e s s spelled out in rhinestones is not, she’s
a spoiled brat and gives true royalty, jewels who don’t need a sign
saying so, a bad w-rap just like the boys with flags
flapping on their rifle totin’ trucks are thugs not cavalry,
who spoil it for the real by your leave marines who come
when you need them no questions asked no banners flying, just
at your service and we who mistake the one for the other
are no better
