poem 29

April 29, 2016 § Leave a comment

back and forth
we went back
and forth as if
we were looking
for something we
lost or wanted to
find as if it were
something more
important than
the back and forth
of feeding the
chickens thinning
the carrots tending
the fire brushing
your hair saying
hello when
the neighbor
it’s taken you
twenty years
to know walks
by and stops
